History of the Firm

Our firm’s founders also founded The Independent Educational Consultants’ Association (IECA), the governing body that provides ethical guidelines, professional development and training standards for our industry. We also have worked extensively with “All Kinds of Minds,” the hallmark program in learning profiles, and speak frequently at national conferences and to school faculties. Professional colleagues, admissions officers, and our clients view us as a leader in the field.

Much of our time is spent on the road visiting and revisiting school and college campuses, where we meet with students, teachers and admissions officers. In the past year, we have visited well over 100 schools and 100 colleges. Additionally, dozens of admissions officials visit our office each year.

All the consultants at HS&M collaborate not only in sharing notes about our visits, but also in composing appropriate school, college, and graduate program lists, and in developing student profiles. In terms of making the best student-consultant match, we vet each inquiry to see which consultant can offer the best primary perspective. We all bring a unique set of strengths, and collectively we provide both intensely personalized care and collaborative wisdom.
