SSAT Authorized Test Site
Ann is the warm and welcoming face of Howland, Spence and
McMillan. While attending to the myriad tasks of running the office of a
busy professional firm, Ann’s primary goal is to answer families’
initial questions about our services and make them feel comfortable with
the next steps in the process. Ann also manages the SSAT Test Center at
HS&M and assists families with questions about test registration
and scheduling. Her passion is helping the families and students who
come to us through phone or email contact, office appointments, or
website inquiries find their way through the school and college planning
process.
Ann came to Howland, Spence & McMillan in 2009 from the Upper School Office of the renowned Fay School. For more than three years, she worked directly with students, parents and faculty. Her interest in genealogy (she has traced her family back to the Revolutionary War) shapes her appreciation and understanding of each family’s personal legacy.
Prior to the Fay School, Ann worked for ten years in highly visible proactive support roles for Presidents and Vice Presidents in the scientific community, computer industry, marketing, retail, hospital, and college environments.
Her husband is a Business Development Manager in the electronics industry and they have two children. Her son graduated from Stanford University with a Chemical Engineering degree and works for a biotech company in Maryland. Her daughter, having graduated from Boston College, is a high school history teacher in Massachusetts and is working towards her master’s degree.
Ann was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and eventually moved to Massachusetts. She is a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, loves to travel, and has visited England, Ireland, Spain, and France and has made several trips to Italy.
