Athletics as part of the HS&M School-Planning process

Understanding the whole student-athlete

In working with our younger athletes, we use our expertise in assessing the student’s ability and level of play in order to find the independent day or boarding school match where the student can make a meaningful contribution, and his or her athletic talents can be appropriately developed.

This is particularly important for student-athletes who know early on that one of their major goals in the college-planning process will be playing at the collegiate level. Our consultants have a strong knowledge of the athletic programs and philosophies of individual day and boarding schools. We work closely with admission and coaching staff at the schools that comprise a student-athlete’s search to seek the best possible academic-athletic fit.

HS&M consultants have worked extensively with younger athletes in a wide variety of sports, including but not restricted to hockey, tennis, lacrosse, baseball, swimming, skiing, crew, squash, football, basketball, track and field, sailing, soccer, equestrian, baseball and softball.
